Fed Up!

Okay, I’ve had it with this transition to a toddler bed! My husband says we can’t go back now that we’ve started, but this is NOT working. We are almost one week into this and they have only napped once. I wore them out at the zoo this morning and they still won’t nap. We’ve taken everything out of their room that they can play with (expect each other and their clothes). They simply will not stay in their bed. I’ve tried sitting next to the beds and forcing them to stay in, leaving them in there long enough to exhaust themselves, rubbing backs, rocking, etc. etc. etc.  I know all kids make this transition at some point. Eventually they will learn to sleep again. I just don’t know how much more I can take. They are grumpy. I am grumpy. I am thinking of putting one in a pack n play in another room for naps. Bedtime is not as hard because Brian is here to help. It’s just so frustrating to have twins that were really good sleepers turn into such a challenge. We have stuck to our routine as much as possible so I am at a loss for what else to try. 

To spite this terror we call naptime, we had a GREAT morning at the zoo. Addison and Emma have a friend that lives in the neighborhood and goes to the same school. Peyton, their friend, calls them “AddiEmma” as one name. Their so cute when they see each other because they give each other big hugs! They are almost one month apart in age so it’s really nice that they made a friend they can grow up with in the neighborhood. And, it doesn’t hurt that Peyton’s mom and I are friends too! 

Everybody pray this toddler bed transition gets better before mommy goes crazy!

As long as the bird was quiet Peyton would get close. She was not fond of the noise!

This picture cracks me up! Peyton is chewing on straw and Addison is crawling into the brush behind the pumpkin patch.

Addison's expression when I told her there were snakes back there. "Yeah right mom!" They are such dare devils.
