The Celebration!

I tried to get a picture of the girls together. Addison was more interested in getting out of the chair as you can see!

We had a great time celebrating Emma and Addison’s first birthday. Since we moved it’s easier for family and friends to travel to our home. Addison and Emma were able to meet some of their cousins for the first time! As you can see from the pictures they loved playing with all of them. We are so grateful they were able to come spend time with us!

My favorite part of the day was watching them dive into their smash cake! Addison is not shy about eating at all! After a few bites of her cake she picked the plate up and tried to put the entire cake in her mouth. Emma tried to share with her Big Daddy (Brian’s dad). It was really cute! It also made me very happy to have a house full of family and friends!

Opening presents was a little chaotic. The girls couldn’t focus on one gift at a time so some of their cousins helped them open presents. At this age I think the paper is more entertaining to them. Since the party they have really enjoyed their new toys. They sleep with their new Minnie Mouse doll, and when they wake up from a nap they grab it out of their crib.

The girls were absolutely worn out by the end of the day! Emma ended up with a fever by the afternoon. She had it for two days following the party too. She is all better now, and I have no idea what was going on. Sometimes she gets a fever when she is cutting teeth. Emma has two new teeth on bottom! Addison’s are breaking through right now.

We can’t wait for all the wonderful things this next year with our daughters will bring! Happy 1st Year Addison and Emma!

In all the cake pictures Addison is wearing blue striped onesie and Emma is wearing the orange.

Brian and I found a wagon on Craigslist. Our friends Julie and Adam also gave us a bunch of their kids' old toys. We saved some of them to put in the wagon when we brought it out for their birthday. As you can see the wagon and the toys were a big hit! Thanks Julie and Adam!

This is a picture of all the cousins together. My niece Layla and cousin Ethan are in the front. Mikaela is holding Emma and Sydney is holding Addison (which is how it was most of the party). They were awesome with the twins! The beautiful, tall teenager is my cousin MacKenzie. She was the flower girl at our wedding.

Below is my friend Erika holding Emma, her daughter Kaitlyn, Elizabeth (Lizzy) is beside me and Addison. My niece Layla thought she would slip in the photo too!

This is part of my family from my mother's side. It was so wonderful to have everyone over!

Here is a picture of Emma having fun with Kaitlyn, Erika, and Lizzy.

Love this picture of Sydney and Addi

Another cousin picture (minus MacKenzie). Ethan and Layla were actually looking at the camera and sitting still for this one! Don't you love how they both have a pig!

These photos were taken the day before the party. Brian is a little obsessed with this Joe Dirt wig. He carries it in the car. Emma is looking up at him!
