9 Months Old

(Above Addison on left, Emma on right at Big Daddy and Nanny's farm)

Wow! I cannot believe my girls are 9 months old. We have been so busy getting things in order to move that July just slipped away. Emma and Addison are crawling and cruising all around. Their personalities are really starting to shine through too.

Baby A: Addison

Addison is very sweet and cuddly. She loves to be held and to give hugs. She will give you a kiss any time you ask. She has also started to give her new baby doll a kiss. Addi also loves to eat! She often shovels food into her mouth with both hands. Fruits such as bananas, strawberries, and watermelon seem to be her favorite foods to eat. She weighed 18.25 pounds (52nd percentile) and was 25 inches long at her 9 month checkup. Addison is a really good sleeper. She sleeps longer at naps than Emma and generally does not wake up often at night. Our schedule is so messed up right now with the move that the amount of naps they take varies from day to day now. Addison is a mama’s girl. Even when she is playing she will come over to me and touch my leg or come to sit in my lap. She likes to know I am close. Addison makes funny noises all the time, and has started to say the words “dad” and “hey”. She still has crazy hair and beautiful blue eyes.

Baby B: Emma

Emma is our wild child. She has started to stand alone in the middle of the floor for a few seconds before she falls on her behind. She loves to do this move that looks like she is riding in a rodeo. Typically she will hold on to either a toy or our shirt and yell while she lets go with one arm and bounces up and down. She is constantly on the go. She is independent and very social. She will make friends with anyone she meets. Emma weighed 17.4 pounds (37th percentile) and was 25 inches. She will give you a kiss sometimes and only likes to cuddle if she is tired. She babbles “da,da”, “ba, ba” and attempted to say turtle the other day in the bath tub. She has also said “Addi” a few times too. Emma sleeps well at night, but does not nap well. Emma has less hair than her sister and it seems to be blonder too. She has the same beautiful blue eyes as her sister.

Both girls have two bottom teeth and are starting to get teething pain from the top teeth. They love to steal each other’s pacifier or toy. Sometimes they laugh when they do this and other times they get upset. They will also stand up in their cribs and yell across the room at each other. When we were at my in-law’s farm (where we stopped for a few days between the move) Emma stood up in her crib after a nap and cried out for “Addi” who had already woken up. Seeing how they interact with each other is a lot of fun!

We just settled into temporary housing in Jacksonville. Big Daddy and Nanny (my in-laws) kept the girls for a few days so I could unpack and look for houses. Brian and I are picking the girls up tonight! The next two months should be an adventure as we look for a new home!

When we were getting the house ready for the move Brian found this lovely Joe Dirt wig! It's definitely a keeper!

  3. Hahaha! They look hysterical with the wig on! I love it!

They really are growing up...it's so sad that they are different babies from the ones I met. I mean, not sad that they are growing and developing, just sad because they are changing and I don't get to watch it!

Good luck house hunting and unpacking. Yuck!
