A Little Behind Week 26 and 27

Here is my week 26 picture with my new car! Brian had to go to Atlanta to pick it up for me. I love it and it has plenty of room for the girls.

Here I am at 27 weeks. I am standing in the girls’ nursery. This is the glider/rocker where Brian and I will rock our babies to sleep, feed them, read to them, etc! You can see the cribs a little bit in this picture. We are still setting up the nursery. When we finish, I will post more pictures.

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. This is the last week in the second trimester. I have had Braxton Hicks contractions off and on for a week now. I called the doctor because it was making me a little nervous. They told me to sit down when it happens. That seems to help, but I still get them when I am on my feet a lot. It is hard to sit at work. Brian has also been doing a lot of extra chores for me since it is pretty hard to bend down. Cleaning bathrooms and outside chores are done by Brian. I feel bad that he has to pick up the slack. I’m not very good at sitting and letting other people do things for me.

Next update will show new ultrasound pictures of the twins! I wonder how much they weigh now?

Week 25

Here is my picture for week 25. This was taken before we went car shopping on Sat. I'm glad we took this before car shopping instead of after. I was so tired after car shopping that I came home and took an hour long nap! We decided that we want to get a GMC Acadia. We test drove two of them, but the dealer would not come off on the price enough for us to buy one right away. We are shopping around. On Sun. Brian put my car on autotrader and it was sold by Monday night! Now we are sharing his car until we find the right deal on a new car for me and the twins.

Many people at work have been telling me that I am expanding everyday! (not in a mean way...I love my co-workers...they are very supportive) I try to remind people that a twin pregnancy causes people to appear about a month further along than you really are.

Week 26 picture will probably come towards the end of next week. Brian will be out of town at our friend Chad's bachelor party. Let's hope he behaves himself!

By the way, I forgot to mention on the last post that Brian made the frame for the mirror in the bathroom we remodeled. I was very impressed!

Week 24

Here I am at 24 weeks. Since I went back to work three weeks ago I am about 1 week behind on posting blogs. I will be 25 weeks tomorrow. Brian and I went to a breastfeeding class last weekend and while we were out we stopped at Shelby Farms to take this picture and the others I have posted. Isn't my husband sweet to come to a breastfeeding class with me!

My wonderful husband also finished the bathroom last weekend! Here are the pictures.

This weekend we are going to look for a new car for me and the twins! My car is a 10 years old Nissan Sentra so two babies definitely will not fit. Week 25 picture will be posted soon.

Quick Updates

Shower #2:

Since the last time I updated the blog we had another shower at Brian’s work. It was really a great shower, and we were blessed to get most of the big items on our registry. Thank you to all the folks in Biologics!

Home Improvements:

Brian put some shelving in the girls’ room for me to start organizing the closet. My mom also gave us three big tubs full of my niece’s clothes! A lot of the stuff still had the tags. My mom loves to shop for the grand kids! I plan on waiting for our furniture before I organize all the clothes.

The bathroom is very near completion. Brian has done a great job! We are waiting on the mirror before I post pictures. He’s been really sweet about doing all these projects around the house. He told me last night before we went to bed that he is doing all this work for our babies! I know he will be such a great dad.

Work:

I went back to work last week. I was pretty tired the first week of setting my classroom up. The kids came for their first day on Monday, 8-3-09. My classes are really small this year, and the kids are well behaved and fun to be around. Last week flew by and we forgot to take a belly shot. The good news is that work helps it seem like time passes by more quickly.

Babies:

I also went for a checkup on Monday August 3. We had another ultrasound. The technician confirmed again that they are both girls. Baby A is vertex (or head down) and Baby B is still breech (or feet down). Their positions are not a concern since they can still move around quite freely. It was really neat to see Baby B kicking Baby A in the head (we have a picture of this)! They also gave us a few more 3-D shots. Baby A smiled at us!

My blood pressure was good, weight gain steady, and every other test they do came out good. Both babies were the same estimated weight of 1 pound and 1 ounce. Even though I am a little over 23 weeks my doctor measured my belly and said I measure the size of a 30 week pregnancy! I’m feeling pretty large lately, but I’m okay with that since it means the girls are getting stronger every day. The doctor said that he can schedule a C section by the 39th week, if not before.

The best part of the recent weeks is feeling the babies move at predictable intervals during the day. Brian has felt a couple of kicks, but they tend to stop kicking when he puts his hand there. Brian has also talked to the twins a few times. He leans in close to my belly and says, “Hi little girls, this is your daddy. I love you!” It is so sweet it brings tears to my eyes. I am so anxious to meet the twins, and to be able to hold them.
