Pictures

This post is mainly pictures. The girls are becoming much more interactive. I love seeing them smile!

Addison is on the left and Emma is on the right getting a kiss from Daddy.

Addison gets a kick out of her Daddy.

Emma loves to play!

Here are the letters we ordered for their rooms.

Both girls love bath time! They are still small enough for us to bathe them in the bathroom sink. Here is Addison looking up at me.

There hasn't been much going on around here. Brian will be out of town later this week and it will be my first time alone at night with the girls. I expect to be worn out when he gets back since they still wake around every 3-5 hours at night to eat. It is very inconsistent right now. One night they made it 6 hours, but that is definitely not the norm. Maybe I will get lucky and they will sleep really well while he is gone.

Two Months Old: Shots and Dr. Visits

(Addison in the green Bumbo, Emma in the purple Bumbo)

Yesterday we took Emma and Addison to their two month check up. They both received three shots and one oral vaccine! It was hard to see my babies cry from the pain. Emma cried more than Addison and both girls needed Tylenol last night.

The doctor gave them a good report. Addison is still a little bigger than Emma. She weighed 8 pounds and 7.5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Emma weighed 8 pounds 3.5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Both girls have gone up in the percentile rankings also. They were below the 5th percentile at their two week check up and now are in the 8th and 6th percentile in their weight. They are such tiny little babies. Maybe that is a sign they will not struggle with weight issues!!

The doctor said they are doing well reaching developmental milestones and that we should consider that they were born about a month early, which means that we should look at their current development as a 5 week old instead of 9 weeks. The doctor was impressed that they both smile at us. They are still working on cooing. As I said last post, Emma is more vocal than Addison. The doctor also thinks Emma looks like me! I still do not think they are identical, but most people who see them think they are. The doctor is not sure yet. She said that it is hard to tell until twins get older. Our next appointment is in March when the girls will be 4 months old.

Disregard Addison's finger!

Emma also saw the cardiologist yesterday. He looked at her heart on the ultrasound machine. We were thrilled to hear that two of the holes have closed and the larger hole is getting smaller! This is such great news. Hopefully, by her 6th month check up the largest hole will be closed. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for her.

On a separate note, Brian got me a special Christmas present this year. He bought me this ring, which is a citrine (the girls’ birthstone). My friend, Kelly, pointed out that one day they would fight over who gets this ring. So I told Brian that one day he could get some earrings or a necklace as a gift!
