Week 24

Here I am at 24 weeks. Since I went back to work three weeks ago I am about 1 week behind on posting blogs. I will be 25 weeks tomorrow. Brian and I went to a breastfeeding class last weekend and while we were out we stopped at Shelby Farms to take this picture and the others I have posted. Isn't my husband sweet to come to a breastfeeding class with me!

My wonderful husband also finished the bathroom last weekend! Here are the pictures.

This weekend we are going to look for a new car for me and the twins! My car is a 10 years old Nissan Sentra so two babies definitely will not fit. Week 25 picture will be posted soon.

Quick Updates

Shower #2:

Since the last time I updated the blog we had another shower at Brian’s work. It was really a great shower, and we were blessed to get most of the big items on our registry. Thank you to all the folks in Biologics!

Home Improvements:

Brian put some shelving in the girls’ room for me to start organizing the closet. My mom also gave us three big tubs full of my niece’s clothes! A lot of the stuff still had the tags. My mom loves to shop for the grand kids! I plan on waiting for our furniture before I organize all the clothes.

The bathroom is very near completion. Brian has done a great job! We are waiting on the mirror before I post pictures. He’s been really sweet about doing all these projects around the house. He told me last night before we went to bed that he is doing all this work for our babies! I know he will be such a great dad.

Work:

I went back to work last week. I was pretty tired the first week of setting my classroom up. The kids came for their first day on Monday, 8-3-09. My classes are really small this year, and the kids are well behaved and fun to be around. Last week flew by and we forgot to take a belly shot. The good news is that work helps it seem like time passes by more quickly.

Babies:

I also went for a checkup on Monday August 3. We had another ultrasound. The technician confirmed again that they are both girls. Baby A is vertex (or head down) and Baby B is still breech (or feet down). Their positions are not a concern since they can still move around quite freely. It was really neat to see Baby B kicking Baby A in the head (we have a picture of this)! They also gave us a few more 3-D shots. Baby A smiled at us!

My blood pressure was good, weight gain steady, and every other test they do came out good. Both babies were the same estimated weight of 1 pound and 1 ounce. Even though I am a little over 23 weeks my doctor measured my belly and said I measure the size of a 30 week pregnancy! I’m feeling pretty large lately, but I’m okay with that since it means the girls are getting stronger every day. The doctor said that he can schedule a C section by the 39th week, if not before.

The best part of the recent weeks is feeling the babies move at predictable intervals during the day. Brian has felt a couple of kicks, but they tend to stop kicking when he puts his hand there. Brian has also talked to the twins a few times. He leans in close to my belly and says, “Hi little girls, this is your daddy. I love you!” It is so sweet it brings tears to my eyes. I am so anxious to meet the twins, and to be able to hold them.
